Mimecast released the “The State of Email and Collaboration Security 2024” report
15 March 2024
On March 13, 2024, Mimecast released its annual report titled The State of Email and Collaboration Security 2024 (SOECS), based on a global survey of 1,100 IT and cybersecurity experts.
The report not only delves into email security but also provides valuable insights on collaboration security.
Let’s explore some of the key findings from this year’s report:
- Human Vulnerability: Presently, the most critical security vulnerability resides in human behavior and this is the reason why IT teams must prioritize providing employees with the appropriate tools and training.
- Proactive Defense Strategies: In response to the evolving challenges posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI), IT teams have been adopting proactive measures to improve the defense strategies. The advent of AI has expedited the propagation of phishing and ransomware attacks, granting threat actors greater ease of success.
- Email vs. Collaboration Tools: the e-mail continues to be the primary avenue for threats (phishing, spoofing, ransomware…) but the collaboration tools have been introducing new entry points for malicious actors!
